With its over 40 years experience in constructing mixing consoles and 30 years history in digital consoles technology Yamaha launches Rivage PM7, another impressing leap forward in Yamaha’s path toward sound purity, reliability and operation power.
A RIVAGE PM7 system is based around the CSD-R7 Digital Mixing Console with built-in signal processing for mixing and effects. Other required components are one or more I/O racks for input and output, and a dedicated interface card for network connectivity. The RIVAGE PM7 system’s CSD-R7 Digital Mixing Console is the same size as the RIVAGE PM10 system CS-R10 Control Surface and has the same control layout. With built-in DSP it offers similarly high standards of operation and workflow efficiency in a relatively compact, portable system.
Sound quality is in the spotlight, the PM7 system is based upon hybrid microphone preamps designed from scratch for what concerns the analog section and that feature transformer circuitry and SILK processing from hi-end analog devices by Rupert Neve Designs, modeled with the new Yamaha Virtual Circuitry Modeling (VCM) technology. These extraordinary preamps are available on each input channel.
Dynamics also have been designed from scratch and feature three different signal processing behaviors, equilisers are 4-band full parametric for input channels and 8-band full parametric for outputs, with three different new generation algorithms, beyond the classic “Legacy” algorithm by Yamaha.
Besides the collaboration with Rupert Neve Designs another important collaboration have been signed with Dan Dugan Sound Design for offering high quality plug-ins for creative production.
Both syntax and hardware production of the console make naturalness and ease of use its own dogmas, Overlay and Isolate filters for a better management of scene memories, a Follow option for master send and direct outputs, touch screen and fader strip merge for an intuitive control.
PM7 offers the possibility to record audio in two modes, either 2 tracks on flashdrive from bus exits STEREO or MIX, or multi-track for up to 128 hi res audio channels on any DAW via Dante network.
